melt flow index polymers
Melt Flow Index Testing Equipment
Function and usage
To test the melt flow rate (MFR, unit: g/10min) of thermoplastic material in high temperature, such as polyethylene, polystyrene, polypropylene, ABS resin, acetal resin, polycarbonate, nylon, and fluoroplastic etc, widely used in industries of plastic material, plastic products, petroleum, chemicals, research institute, inspection agency and so on.
Standards:
GB/T9643, GB/T3682, JB/T5456, ISO1133
Working principle:
GBB-R Melt Flow Indexer makes the test material reach molten state at a prescribed temperature in the high-temperature furnace. Such melt test material goes through a small hole of specific diameter at a normative load, subjected to extrusion test. In the production of plastics, MFI is usually used to indicate the fluidity, viscosity and other physical properties of polymers. Melt flow rate is expressed in the weight or volume of polymer per 10 minutes of the test or the average weight of each extruded material.
Applications:
Thermoplastic materials such as polyethylene, polystyrene, polypropylene, ABS resin, polycarbonate, nylon, fluoroplastic and etc.
